The project involves the use of the conventional underground room and pillar mining method and cold crystallization/flotation mineral processing to produce fertilizer-grade Potassium Chloride (KCl) product and industrial-grade Sodium Chloride (NaCl) as a by-product according to international market standards.
By taking into account the possible environmental impacts, the project’s initial target production capacities are 134,000 tonnes per annum for potash fertilizer, 268,000 tonnes per annum for process salt (98% purity) and 300,000 tonnes per annum for refined salt (99.9% Purity), while effectively manage the waste material produced from the beneficiation process. Hence, the project is designed to be “Zero Discharge”, through the construction of storage ponds, emergency ponds, both natural and artificial barriers, and a waste backfill system.
